A Flamingo at the Falls

I'm going through family withdrawals, as I do after I see them, every time.

Back before I got sidetracked by a sunset and a weekender to new places I was telling you all about my fantastic family fun

On Good Friday, when Sis G arrived, we headed out for a swim and to meet up with her work mates.
Crystal Cascades was the spot to be and one Sis G enthusiastically wanted to visit again.

So afternoon swim time it was, and such a nice cool off. The falls were looking low but still pretty.

We weren't the only ones around but for a brief time we got the waterfall to ourselves.

It was cool and refreshing. The freshwater swimming places are always cool here, even on the hottest days.

While we were there we even saw a giant pink flamingo going for a dip.

I think I know why Sis G loves visiting here. It is cool, relaxing, quiet and so different to what we grew up with. It is the best of the tropics all in one with rainforest and a waterfall.

The weather at the moment has cooled a little with a taste of Autumn greeting us early in the morning. I could probably still do a swim at Crystal Cascades any day though.

I Must Confess

  6. Absolutely gorgeous waterfalls and thank you for sharing one with SEASONS! Love your blog and experiences, so am looking forward to see you back next week!
Sorry you have to miss your family! I know what that is like - For two decades my girls lived 7 hrs. away and my son was abroad. Fortunately for almost two years now the girls are now 1 1/2 hrs. - 2 hrs. away and I don't have to miss so much of my grandkids' lives!

    1. Thank you! It is a lovely waterfall and so close to where I live.
I would love to live closer to my family one day but for now we just enjoy visits. I know my Mum would love for me to be closer. I would also love to be closer to my nieces so I can be a part of their lives. I currently live about 18 1/2hrs away or over 1600km away from them. Luckily they just started flights to here from a new airport closer to my parent's place. Hopefully I'll be able to make use of that. Also I am lucky to now have my youngest sister only living about 4hrs away so we can see each other a bit more.

    1. Yes, it is a great place for everyone. We had seen the group with their flamingo earlier, swimming further down. What cracks me up is that they lugged the thing all the way to the falls.
