Puppies' First Drive

On my trip into town last weekend I had some extra passengers who were great company as they were very well behaved. Well they were well behaved after they were properly trapped and couldn't escape any more.

Ringo trying to escape.

Chloe checking it all out.

While I was in town for the weekend we ran back and fowards to where the pups were staying to feed and water them.

The gorgeous mischeif makers have now very happily gone to new homes in far away places after their new and exciting travels.

Octo Mum

The dogs have been at it again (wow that could come across so very wrong). Pippy has added 8 more pups to the numbers and what gorgeous little scraps they are. I have picked one out that I absolutely love the colouring of. Looks like a 'red dog' in the making ... just a girl one though. She is reddish brown with tan and white markings ... ahhh I think it is love. Anyway I know that she'll never be mine but I can drool. Now what is her name ... Ruby, Rosie, Garnet ... yeah I know name it and I'll keep it.

Here are the other adorable new additions as well. The kids already have their favourites as well.

In some sad news one of the older pups got run over yesterday and only three of Missy's dozen pups have survived. Mind you they are three very fat and healthy looking puppies.

Also in more animal news Sadie is thriving and is curious about everyone and everything. She is quite playful and thinks she is a little human.

Thank Goodness It Wasn't A Baker's Dozen

Now usually we would all be quite happy to receive a baker's dozen (thirteen) rather than the normal twelve. On the arrival of her pups yesterday I think Missy, and everyone else, breathed a sigh of relief when she stopped at twelve. Yes, 12!

There are now twelve new squirming, squeaking, gorgeous, silky, balls of fur sprawled in a tangle of heads, legs and tails at their mother's side. Some with feet in the air and some snuggled down deep. They are black, white, tan, red in many combinations. It makes it a bit hard to make head and tail of them.

Missy, I think, is quite proud of her delivery especially as she is usually a 4 pup dog. I don't think she will be quite so happy when it comes to twelve demanding little wet noses squirming for food.

Total puppy count now comes in at 18 ... 6 that are nearly six weeks old and 12 that are now a day old. Anyone feel the need for a puppy?

Puppy Love

When I arrived back on the station a week ago today I was greeted by some excited children who wanted to share some puppy love with me so now it is my turn to pass some on to you.

(Pups aged 2wks 6 days; 4 black with tan and white markings, 1 white with black markings, 1 white with black and tan markings)
