This is it ...

This is it my last night on the station, at least for a while. I look around and see empty walls, the building feels hollow, sounds hollow. My car, however, is not and except for food it is packed and ready to head out the gate tomorrow morning. I am excited for the future and what it will bring but sad to be leaving. For me I don't think the leaving permanently has sunk in. I am going to miss the families I work for and their kids. They are my outback family and together we have been through a lot of ups and downs but I wouldn't trade the experiences we've had together for the world.

P.S. Sorry for the lack of posts, it has been pretty hectic around here but catch up will happen as there are some exciting things to share.

  1. this must feel very odd. I will miss your posts from the school room. However adventure is just around the corner.

  2. I've been subscribed to your blog for months now and, while I never comment, I read every post as soon as it comes out. I just wanted to say thank you for sharing your experience with us. You've done a lot to inspire me and to make sure I never forget what all this uni work I'm doing is leading me towards, as I wait out the months until I graduate and can head west for my own outback adventure. Thanks, and good luck with whatever is yet to come :)

  3. Thank you all for your support and well wishes. I plan to keep blogging, just about what I don't know. Maybe it'll be about tropical life maybe life on the Darling Downs. Maybe about any ideas I find for kids or about lone guiding. I know I will be back out here to visit some time so I'll share that to.
@ Abbyhatch I hope you do enjoy your own outback adventure and good luck with uni.
