Just Another Bird Filled Tuesday

This morning I went for a walk and this is what I saw.
Australasian Figbird

As I headed up the street I saw this little beauty enjoying the early morning sun.

Having a scratch - Australasian Figbird

And on a branch nearby was this shiney, little red eyed bird.
Metallic Starling

As I headed further towards the hilly back blocks I got closer and closer to this noisy lot.

They were also enjoying the morning sun sqwarking and carrying on at each other constantly moving from tree to tree.

Sulphur Crested Cockatoos

I then headed back down from the hilly area, getting close to home and spotted a couple more preening pansies enjoying the warm sun.

Oh and these larrikins were hanging out in that tree too. causing a ruckus, flying back and forward, barely staying still for a moment.

Rainbow Lorikeets

Then just outside where we live this pair were slowly strutting around and enjoying a morning feast.
Straw-necked Ibis

Do you go for a morning walk ... or an evening one?
What do you see?

  2. I don't think I had paid attention to them before and certainly didn't know what they were without a little research. They are quite pretty with their yellow breast and red around the eye.

  3. Hi Anne, It looks like a very birdy place where you live, down this way we get grass parrots and the odd mountain lorry but we do have trouble keeping them around as there are a pair of wattle birds the attack the parrots and any other little bird, I'm hoping when we move we will get lots of parrots and other small birds.

  4. Hi Kerry, It is a birdy place now while it is cooler but they will go into hiding when the heat sets in. I hope you get lots of birds too. I know I love to watch them.
