Show Time 2016!

It is that time of year, the time when we whinge about the price to get in the show gates and still go and do it anyway.
We actually had no specific plan to head to the show this year, but ended up checking it out for a couple of hours last Friday. It was peoples day or the show holiday. I had to work that afternoon and evening so Mr Sparky's get in and out method suited me fine. It was going to be crowded. Last time we went we went at night but this time we hit the show just after the gates opened for the day. Unfortunately that method doesn't leave much leeway for photo taking, other than the odd quick snap here and there.

So here is a super quick look at parts of the Cairns Show for 2016.

Shhh ... spot Mr Sparky ;)

We last went to the Cairns Show two years ago. Not much has changed but it was good to have a look around in daylight hours but I am a bit sad I missed out on fireworks. Oh well, Cairns Festival is coming up so hopefully I'll get to see some then.

Fingers of light

Well here is a bit of a quickie for you.
Well, maybe not so quick, there are plenty of photos.

I had a thought last week, that it was about time I did a beach sunrise.
Well, Tuesday last week I managed to get one in.
Finding time to blog about it since then however, has been interesting. I often think my week will look one way and then it turns into something completely different when I get a phone call here and a phone call there, and completely overfilled with work.

We are currently up to day three of pretty solid rain so there is no sunrise and sunset action in these parts. It seems that wet season has arrived ... 6 months late. I am thinking the sugar cane farmers who are ready for harvest would not be happy about this weather at all. It is nice though and would be even nicer if I was home, participating in the regular wet weather behaviour.

Well, it is time for me to get ready to leave the house for the day. I hope you enjoy this light finger sunrise, lighting up the day.

Enjoy your week!
