I am linking up again with I must confess and this week's prompt was sweet treats. I am quite proud of myself for remembering, especially after last weeks forgetfulness confession.
Now I have to say I am a self confessed sweet tooth, if it involves sugar I am in. Desserts are my downfall. Like this easy to purchase tiramisu, all ready for a one person sweet feast.
But most of all I am a shocking chocoholic and can surprise others with the amount of chocolate I can consume without feeling even a little sick. My go to when feeling down, stressed, tired etc is chocolate and it is what I crave. I am a little picky though and like good chocolate but if I can't get it I'll eat anything, I have even been known to raid the golden syrup for a sugar hit. I did confess to being a terrible sweet tooth didn't I.
These were a treat and not my usual Cadbury chocolate buy |
Now I am not all about the sugary things, well I am trying not to be. My diet on this front has been shocking since moving to Cairns. Let's just blame it on life upheaval and missing what I had as well as distance from family. I read about people adjusting to country life and finding it a bit hard, well it goes the other way too. Anyway a healthier sweet thing that is overflowing our fridge at the moment, thanks to specials, are strawberries.
Well Mr Sparky and I both love them and those tiny punnets are not near big enough. As some might recall we have strawberries battling on in our garden. They are slowly producing, flowering and fruiting but we would need acres of them to keep out strawberry obsession satisfied.
Ours in the garden are smaller but super sweet and tasty! They never make it into the house. I might have taken a freshly opened punnet outside for a photo shoot.
Come on my little strawberries, grow, grow, grow.
What sweet treats do you enjoy? Do you overdo it on the chocolate like me or do you have a savory tooth instead.
At the start of this year I Quit Sugar. It has complete reset my taste buds which I think is so fantastic. Still, I have a sweet tooth. I just need less sweetness to gain the same amount of pleasure.
ReplyDeleteMy favourite is Lindt chocolate or berries. I've started making hot chocolates with Lindt too, so decadent.
Wow I wish I had the will power. I enjoy Lindt as well but I am a Cadbury girl. I am loving strawberries being in season for a healthier snack.
DeleteMy strawberries look like your strawberries - I need to protect them better as the birds are eating them before they are ready to eat! I absolutely love the fact you "may" have put a punnet of strawberries into your garden for photographic purposes ;)
ReplyDeleteHehe, may, definitely more like it. We are getting in first with the strawberries but something loves our tomatoes although strangely enough not the cherry ones.
DeleteUnfortunately I have a sweet and savoury tooth but like you chocolate is my absolute downfall. My only stipulation is that is must be cold!
ReplyDeleteI enjoy both too but choc is a huge downfall. I should keep mine in the fridge as I prefer it room temp but then again I'll eat it any way it comes.
DeleteOh I am definitely a chocolate lover but having started lite n easy as a way of getting my weight etc back under control, I am not eating anywhere near as much as I used to...I do miss it sometimes, but we do get other little sweet treats so don't find that I crave it.
ReplyDeleteIt is good when you find something that works in the food department. I find the easiest thing is not to buy it but sometimes choc beckons too much in the shop.
DeleteI have taken a liking to salted chocolate of late, but any chocolate will do!
ReplyDeleteI can't say I've tried salted choc but I'm not the biggest fan of the salted caramel craze. I've never really eaten salt added to things due to health so I pick it a mile away.
