A few cockatoos dropped by the house on the family farm this morning. I think there were 5 or 6 in total raising a ruckus. I did my usual headless chook impersonation, running to the front veranda then back through the house to the back veranda (and my thongs) then up the side of the house and across the road as they moved around. When I came back inside my mother calmly said "what did you find to take a photo of?" Guess she knows me well.
Wow! They are lovely! I've only seen one pair of them in the wild here in New Zealand and those were by chance as we traveled some back roads. I love it that your mom knew what was happening--like Hubby!
ReplyDeleteWe get heaps come near our house but I've never seen them at the family farm before. How lucky to see them by chance. Oh yes my Mum knows me well, so does Mr Sparky but he rarely comments on it other than to say I am crazy who h is of cause true :)
DeleteOh my goodness...I can't even imagine the thrill!
ReplyDeleteThey always amaze me. I love seeing birds wild and free and how they interact with each other. Also love trying to sneak closer and closer. I swear these guys were bigger than the ones in the north I usually see.
ReplyDeleteWe haven't been visited by the corellas yet this year. We did cut down one of our big gums, the one closest to the house that they used to like to sit in. There are plenty more though they can sit in.
ReplyDeleteIt sounds like you are hanging out for their arrival. I had been for the rainbow lorikeets and they have come, yay! The corellas must get noisy.
